Getting Started
We understand that reaching out for support can be challenging, which is why Valued Living makes accessing therapy easier.
We offer two routes into therapy:
If you’re unsure what therapy you need, complete our booking form, and we’ll arrange a 45-minute telephone or video consultation to discuss your difficulties and explore available options.

If you already know what therapy you need, simply fill out the booking form, and we’ll schedule your first session with one of our expert clinicians.Your therapist will work with you until you feel ready to end therapy. In rare cases, if therapy isn't the best fit at the moment, or if we can't offer the right treatment, we'll provide the information you need to find alternative support.
Initial Consultation
The initial consultation allows us to understand your difficulties and recommend the most suitable support.
One of our trained therapists will contact you to assess your needs, listen with compassion, and guide you toward the best options based on your preferences.

Counselling
Counselling is a highly effective support for issues such as self-worth, bereavement, depression, relationship difficulties, and major life changes.

Our counsellors provide a warm, empathic space to help you understand your experiences, identify a path forward, and gently support you as you address your situation.

More than just talking, counselling helps you develop the inner strength and resilience needed to move forward in life.

CBT Therapy
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based, structured approach, proven effective for treating depression and anxiety-related issues such as excessive worry, phobias, panic attacks, OCD, PTSD, and health anxiety.

CBT helps you understand your difficulties, break cycles of anxiety and depression by learning new ways of thinking (cognitive) and responding to challenging situations (behavioural). Backed by science, it’s considered the gold standard of talking therapies.
EMDR Therapy
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR) uses eye movements (or other bilateral stimulation like tapping or audio) to help process traumatic memories. You’ll focus on specific memories while tracking your therapist’s hand, which triggers biological processes similar to those in REM sleep, aiding in the processing of memories and emotions.

EMDR focuses on challenging memories and related events, and has also proven effective for a wide range of mental health issues, by addressing current distressing situations and develops the skills needed for positive future actions. ​

Children and Young People
We offer talking therapies to children and young people aged 14+ both in person and remotely.

We understand how challenging it can be to find someone who will take your concerns about your child seriously. We offer a free 15-minute consultation to discuss your concerns before beginning therapy. We also have strong partnerships with local services and can sometimes recommend additional support for your child’s emotional needs.

While we cannot discuss the content of therapy sessions with you, we’ll keep you informed about your child’s attendance and any safety concerns. We know that paying for private therapy can feel risky, but we’re committed to using our time effectively and helping your child manage their emotions independently.

In some therapies, your child may need to complete tasks between sessions. It can be helpful to ask about these tasks and be supportive if you notice them trying new behaviours.
Booking Information
We strive to keep our prices as low as possible to ensure that our services remain accessible to our local communities. In order to achieve this, we also offer all of our services remotely at a reduced rate and can provide flexible frequencies for appointments to spread out the cost of your therapy.
